Jarmer’s whimsical affinity for witches has led to the creation of several signature menu items – including the Toil and Trouble Omelette, Eggs Bene’witch, a variety of “sandwitches” and the Cauldron Salad. She has inspired scores of devoted patrons to contribute to her collection of witch-themed items, which help decorate the nooks and crannies of the restaurant. “We’re all a ****** here and I **** when our customers call me ‘Witchipoo’ or ‘Witchy Woman,’ ” Jarmer laughed. “It’s **** and fun.”

The Chicken or the Egg, ***** Haven It’s **** to go wrong at the Chegg, as devotees call this offbeat spot for egg sandwiches and pretty much anything else you might hanker for. Mark Cohen, who owns the place with his *******, Craig, attributes the Chegg’s luminous standing not only to its vast menu but also to its being open 24 hours a day (from Memorial Day through Labor Day), with breakfast available around the clock. Another nicety—since there is almost always a wait (sometimes up to two hours)—is that the Chegg will text you when your table is ready. Once you’re in, feast your eyes on the egg-centric wall ***, or on your plate, where the Goshdarnwich (one egg, bacon and cheese between two *** slices of ****** toast, with maple syrup and **** fries, $7.99) might await you. The ocean is just two blocks away—not enough to walk off all those calories, but Cheggers are not waistline worrywarts. 207 North Bay Avenue, 609-492-3695.
